Trotts Garden was planned from the beginning. The woodland area was developed around a series of gently curving walls. Later the water gardens were added and finally the English inspired formal gardens. The layout is such that the garden areas are integrated yet contain elements of surprise as the visitor explores. Trotts Garden was recently awarded the prestigious Award of Garden Excellence by the Canterbury Horticultural Society, for gardens considered to be outstanding for their horticultural value in plant material, cultivation, design, construction, and maintenance. The garden caters for individuals, small and large groups.
